Terms of visit
1. Scope
This Visitor Policy is binding for all visitors. By entering the premises at Friedhofstraße 1, 76437 Rastatt-Ottersdorf, visitors agree to comply with these rules.
2. Conduct in the building
All visitors must conduct themselves in such a way that no one is obstructed, harassed, or endangered; that the art and furnishings, as well as the building, are not endangered, damaged, or destroyed; and that public safety and order are not jeopardized.
2.1. Conversations must be conducted at a moderate volume. Cell phones and similar devices must be set to silent mode in the exhibition rooms. Phone calls are prohibited in the exhibition rooms.
2.2. Smoking is strictly prohibited both indoors and outdoors.
2.3. Guardians, particularly parents, teachers, caregivers, and other responsible adults, must supervise those in their care to prevent accidents and damage. Children under the age of six may only remain in Haus Kiefer when accompanied by an adult. Minors under the age of 14 may be denied entry without an adult if there is a risk of disruption or a threat to the safety of the exhibits or the minors themselves.
2.4. Eating and drinking are prohibited in the exhibition halls.
2.5. Pets are not allowed in the building.
2.6. Bulky or sharp-edged objects, such as briefcases and camera cases, tripods, umbrellas, as well as backpacks and bags larger than 30 x 20 x 10 cm must be checked in or stored in lockers. In cases of doubt, the supervisory staff will decide.
It is prohibited to leave luggage outside the coat check and lockers.
Wet outerwear may not be worn in exhibition rooms for conservation reasons.
2.7. Touching works of art and display cases is strictly prohibited. A reasonable distance (around 50 cm) must be maintained.
2.8. Stairs, passageways, escape routes, and emergency exits must always be kept clear for safety reasons. This is particularly important to keep in mind when using chairs.
3. Parking lot in front of the building
Parking spaces in front of the building are reserved for Haus Kiefer staff.
4. Filming and photography
4.1. Filming and photography are permitted for personal use only and without the use of a flash, tripod, or smartphone extension poles. The rights of third parties must be respected, particularly personal rights and copyrights. Additionally, exceptions may apply in areas marked with appropriate signage where photography is prohibited.
4.2. Commercial photography and filming must be requested in advance and requires written permission from A.K. GmbH.
5. Safety
5.1. Visitors must follow the instructions of the supervisory staff, as these are intended to protect the artworks and all visitors from potential dangers and hazards.
5.2. Visitors may be asked to leave Haus Kiefer by a staff member. This may occur if individuals are disruptive, harass other guests, or have otherwise and significantly or repeatedly violated the visitor policy. In serious cases, an immediate ban from the premises may also be imposed. No refund of the admission fee will be issued in any of these cases.
5.3. Persons who are visibly intoxicated or otherwise under the influence may be denied entry.
5.4. It is prohibited to bring chemicals, dangerous or hazardous substances, and objects into the premises, including, in particular, weapons and drugs.
5.5. Children may not be carried on the back or shoulders.
6. Lost and found
Lost items and objects of any kind found in the building must be turned in to the security staff. The loss of items must also be reported to the security staff.
7. Changes
Special circumstances may require different or additional rules to apply. Visitors will be notified of these upon entering the museum.
8. Liability
Visitors are liable for all expenses and damages resulting from failure to comply with the visitor regulations. The premises are under video surveillance for security reasons. Details can be found in the privacy policy.
