Terms of visit

These terms of visit set out the rules that apply to all persons (‘visitors’) who are in Haus Kiefer for professional or private reasons and have access to guided tours and/or to the premises for exhibitions, readings, lectures, film screenings, concerts, meetings, and receptions. These terms of visit also apply to all persons who may be in Haus Kiefer for work in technical areas of the building. By entering Haus Kiefer, you agree to these terms of visit.

1. General information

The parking lot in front of the building is reserved for Haus Kiefer staff. Visitors should use the public parking lot at the cemetery in Rastatt-Ottersdorf.

Dogs and other pets are not allowed.

For safety reasons, technical reasons or due to weather conditions, the management of A.K. GmbH (‘the management’) reserves the right to close the facility in whole or in part and/or to adjust the opening hours.

The management also reserves the right to refuse access to the facility or to ask visitors to leave the facility if:

A.K. GmbH undertakes to do everything in its power to ensure the safety of visitors.

Fire extinguishers are available in the building. The tour guides and accompanying persons are trained in their use.

In the event of a fire, the security personnel on duty must be notified immediately.

If the Haus Kiefer has to be evacuated, visitors must follow the instructions given to them in order to leave the premises as quickly as possible.

Children remain under the supervision and responsibility of their parents or accompanying persons during their visit to the Haus Kiefer and in the parking lot.

Visitors must accept opening their bags at the request of the facility’s staff.

For security reasons (in particular to assist victims, in the case of an accident, as quickly as possible), the facility is under video surveillance.

In this context, A.K. GmbH undertakes to comply with the laws and regulations applicable in Germany regarding the protection of personal data in relation to the images collected in this context and to ensure compliance with these laws and regulations.

The processing of these images is based on the Regulation and on the legitimate interest of A.K. GmbH.

Visitors are informed of the presence of surveillance cameras by notices displayed in the facility.

The images from the cameras are not stored for longer than one month. In the event of an incident, the images are removed from the device and stored for the duration of the relevant proceedings.

Only security officers are authorized to view these images.

A.K. GmbH has taken technical and organizational measures to ensure the integrity, confidentiality and security of the images.

Visitors have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of these images, the right to establish guidelines for the storage, erasure and transfer of these images after their death.

4. Liability

A.K. GmbH is obliged to compensate visitors for any damage they may suffer as a result of a breach by the A.K. GmbH of its contractual or legal obligations, in particular with regard to safety.

A.K. GmbH is not obliged to compensate visitors for damage caused by themselves:

A.K. GmbH cannot be held liable for the occurrence of an event of force majeure.

Any damage caused to the building or car park of the facility by a visitor or any other person subject to the provisions of these regulations shall be borne by the person responsible.

A.K. GmbH accepts no liability for theft of personal belongings from the Kiefer building and/or vehicles parked in the parking lot.
